Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Red Nose Garage ("the Service"), operated by Red Nose Garage ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What Red Nose Garage Is

Red Nose Garage is a personal vehicle maintenance and history tracking tool. It lets you log service records, track smog and registration, monitor recalls, store photos, and organize cost data for vehicles you own or manage. It is not a warranty, insurance product, or licensed automotive service.

2. Your Account

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. Accounts are for individual use and may not be shared commercially or transferred to another person without our consent.

3. Free and Pro Plans

Red Nose Garage offers a free plan (up to 3 vehicles) and a Pro plan with additional features. Pro plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. All fees are in USD and are non-refundable except where required by law.

We reserve the right to change pricing or plan features. If we raise prices on an existing paid subscription, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before the change takes effect.

You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Your access to Pro features will continue through the end of your current billing period.

4. Your Content

You own the data you enter — service records, photos, notes, and vehicle information. By uploading content to Red Nose Garage, you grant us a limited license to store and display it to you (and household members you authorize).

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. We don't verify your maintenance records, mileage, or ownership claims.

5. No Warranty on Data Accuracy

Recall data comes from the NHTSA public API. AI maintenance recommendations are generated by Gemini and are for informational purposes only. Neither is a substitute for a qualified mechanic's advice.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind — express or implied. We don't guarantee that recall data is complete, that AI recommendations are accurate, or that the Service will be available at all times.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Red Nose Garage will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service — including but not limited to vehicle damage, missed maintenance, failed smog or registration, or data loss. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service's code or database
• Upload malware, spam, or illegal content
• Misrepresent your identity or vehicle ownership

8. Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. When you do, your data is permanently removed from our systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or pose a risk to other users or the platform — with or without notice.

9. Household Sharing

The household sharing feature lets you invite other users to view or co-manage your vehicles. You're responsible for who you invite and what access you grant them. Editors can add and modify records; viewers can only read. You can remove household members at any time.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or by displaying a notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Joaquin County, California.
